Creating the World You Dream of : Childhood's End
The creative principle unifies the inner and external worlds.
Maintaining unity is virtuous, for the inner world of thought is one
with the external world
of action and of things.

Despite the numerous scientific evidence, most of us still believe in the 17th century Newtonian cosmology, where the self / the observer / our consciousness and the ‘outside’ world exist separately. In a way, the modern science is catching up with many of the ancient traditions that have always regarded everything, every beings, and every events as being inter-connected and being a part of the inseparable ‘whole.’
In the same way, your inner world is inseparable from what is happening in the outer world and is a direct mirror of each other. If we are living in a society where people are feeling oppressed by a system, for example, this could mean that most of us in the society including the so-called abusive authority themselves may still have the inner world, in which ‘helpless victim/child vs. oppressive authority/parents’ are the prominent characters.
If our inner world is a mirror and microcosm of the planetary awareness, it is imperative that as many of us as possible take a conscious choice to look inside ourselves. We need to see ‘in what ways we are both the oppressor and oppressed,’ and work on it until we transcend the dychotomy in order to help the world grow out of the childhood into the adulthood. Simply to accuse the leaders of the society and rebel against it or be paralyzed by fear, as we have discussed in the earlier section, is to stay in the same level of consciousness.
Instead, just as in the relationship work we have discussed, by fundamentally shifting the way we use our awareness, we can create a different reality for ourselves and for the world. Greg Braden, the author of The Divine Matrix: Bridging Time, Space, Miracles and Belief, calls it ‘living from the answer.’ It’s different from working toward the goal, or hoping that something would happen, but rather living as though our dream has already come true. Some of the world famous athletes are using this principle in their training. They imagine the successful scene vividly until they actually feel in their mind and body that it is already happening. There are also hunter-gatherer tribes who enact together a successful hunting, as part of the ritual before they go on a hunting trip. They play out together all the hunting scenes including carrying together heavy animals. These people know how to participate in a reality where everything is inter-connected in a non-linear space-time continuum.
By fundamentally shifting how we use our awareness this way, we can be the active participants of creating a better future for the world. Remember the world change starts from each of us working on ourselves.
Awareness exercise; Creating the World You Dream About
1. What is the world you dream of? What does it look like – what is the scenery like, who are there and how do people act with each other, how does it smell, what is the atmosphere like? Imagine in greatest detail until you actually feel as if you were there.
2. Feel how it’s like to live in that world. How would you sit, walk and breathe – try acting it out.
3. What is the basic essence of that world? (e.g. serenity, peace, excitement, valuing diversity, creativity, etc..)
4. Take a moment to reflect on how you can 'live the essence' you’ve just found in different areas of your life more?
