Remember to Remember
The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware, joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware.

When was the last time that you reflected on what goes on in your mind or observed your pattern? Once we try this, most of us will realize that we are rarely in the present moment. We are either playing dramas in the head about the past or the future, filling our mind with outside stimuli, or just going automatic on everything we do. In other words, we are trapped in our own mind, seldom using the potential that we have.
The key and the beginning point for liberating our mind is self-awareness. Self-awareness is an ‘observer’ in you that is rooted in the present moment. It makes it possible for you to view yourself or situations from a compassionate yet detached perspective. From this place, you are able to question the status quo, whether it is about your own life or what is happening in the world. You can then choose different options to go further and deal creatively with the issues at hand.
It’s normal to ‘forget to remember,’ as we are living in the world where awareness is not so encouraged, or at times purposefully and systematically repressed. When you catch yourself having been in an automatic mode, gently bring your self-awareness back to the present moment again and again. It would be a good idea to set aside some time each day for meditation. If it's difficult, why not make it a habit to remind yourself when you are standing in a long queue at a bank or stuck in a traffic jam, that it is a cue (excuse the pun) from the Universe to ‘remember to remember.’
